God has a purpose for the Nation of Israel and her land. God promised Abraham and his seed the Land of Israel for an everlasting possession. He warned them that he would remove them from the land if they were disobedient to Him. History records the removal of Israel from the promised land. God also promised to restore His people in a future day, we read about that restoration in Deuteronomy 30:3. “That the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return thee from the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.” We in this generation have witnessed this promise of God being fulfilled.
President Obama, like many other world leaders, is acting in bold defiance of the Almighty God by demanding that Israel abandon biblical Jerusalem, biblical Judea and Samaria. Obama is bullying Israel by demanding that she stop building on the land God has promised to her. Who does he think he is?
It causes us to tremble as we think of this defiance of God. We are shocked by the arrogance of today’s world leaders as they trample on God’s Word. For centuries men have defied God, deliberately disobeying His word. For centuries these men have ended up in the dust of the earth awaiting their appearance before the great white throne judgment.
Another area where Obama is defying God is in the area of his promotion homosexuality. At a White House celebration of Gay Pride Month, Obama said he hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality. He has also called for the Defence of Marriage to be repealed . Along with that he is calling for the military to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that would officially open up the military to homosexuals.
In his statement Obama said, “There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbours or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes”. The president equates the Word of God to old attitudes and worn arguments. Our answer is “let God be true and every man a liar”.
God’s payday doesn’t come on Friday, but it will surely come.
