Is the Land of Israel about to be Divided

Source: Art Sadlier, Saturday October 1st 2011

I believe as we study the scriptures we can conclude that the land of Israel is not going to be divided at this time. The question is if not now, then when?

As the tribulation period begins scripture reveals Israel dwelling in peace and safety on the land. Also, as the first half of the tribulation period unfolds, it reveals Israel in possession of the Temple Mount with a rebuilt temple and the re-established worship and evidently in possession of Jerusalem. In Matthew 24 Jesus reveals, at the midpoint of the tribulation period, Israelis dwelling in Judea.

As we stand on the threshold of the “Day of the Lord” it is clear from scripture that the Palestinians are not about to obtain a state on the Promised Land.

We restate what we have previously said; we are headed for the consolidation of Israel’s place in the Promised Land. We are headed for the re-establishment of the temple worship.

More immediately, we are headed for a war between Israel and the Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Jordan. You cannot read and analyse the news and come to any other conclusion. Israel will never be found to be dwelling in peace in the land until these nations and groups are totally subdued. We have already showed from Psalm 83, Isaiah 17, and Ezekiel 36, that the Lord is going to pour out judgment on these antagonists of Israel.

In Ezekiel 36, we read about this outpouring of God’s wrath on Idumea (the Palestinians). Verse 5, “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.”

We restate the fact that this coming war will fill the world with fear and trembling. The total destruction of the Palestinians and their allies and the fact that weapons of mass destruction will be used (chemical and biological weapons, and possibly nuclear weapons), as God also intervenes in great fury.

We also suspect from the warning signs all around us that the world will be in chaos, with economic collapse, political turmoil and perhaps natural disasters.

We restate that on this scene the antichrist will come and bring his false peace and work his political-economical miracles and wonders. Daniel reveals the manner in which this deceiver will come to power. Daniel 8:25, “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many.....”

John, in Revelation 6:2 describes the same event, “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; (notice with no arrows) and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

THE DIVISION OF THE LAND will take place at the midpoint of the tribulation period.

Jesus tells us that at the mid-tribulation point an unprecedented assault against Israel will take place. It will be the beginning of the time known as “Jacob’s trouble.” Jews will be driven out of the land and those that remain will be slaughtered. Mathew 24:16-21, “Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” The setting for these verses is the mid-tribulation point as revealed in verse 15.

We see this slaughter described in Zechariah 13:8, where two thirds of the nation will be killed, “And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.” This time of Jacob’s trouble is alluded to in Revelation 12:13-14, where we see the Jews fleeing out of the land as Satan seeks to annihilate them in the last half of the tribulation, “And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” At that the close of that time the judgment of God will be poured out on Antichrist and the nations for what they have done to Israel during the last half of the tribulation period.

Joel warns of the judgment of God to fall on the nations of the world for this assault on Israel. In Joel 3:2 we read, “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead (judge) with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” Joel is here referring to the battle of Armageddon at the close of the tribulation.

At that time Israel’s eyes will be opened and they will repent and turn to their Messiah who will come and deliver them and set up the kingdom.

I have deliberately repeated myself in the above articles to help all to understand the hour in which we are now living and to realize what lies in the near future.

LET ME REVIEW ONE MORE TIME. The land is not about to be divided at this time. War will come first and then the false peace treaty. Israel will rebuild the temple and re-establish the temple worship for three and one half years. Then the time of Jacob’s trouble will see Israel driven off the land and slaughtered by Antichrist. Finally in the war of Armageddon, Messiah will come and deliver believing Israel and set up the kingdom.

We do not know just when the trumpet will sound to call us to the Father’s house. But we do know that it is near at hand.
