A New Atmosphere in Israel

Source: Art Sadlier, Sunday August 5th 2012

For sixty years the Israeli leaders have sought to give away the West Bank, rightly known as Judea and Samaria. This attitude is in direct contradiction of God’s instructions to Israel. It seems that the God of Israel has prevented this from happening. Recently we are seeing the first signs of a change of attitude in Israel. There are indications that Israel is now beginning to understand that the whole land is theirs. It seems that Israel is being prepared for that which will happen as the tribulation period begins.

It has been reported that the Israeli government has recently increased their expenditures in the West Bank. This is affirming the idea that Israel is preparing to remain in Judea and Samaria.

I believe this change of attitude is partly due to the fact that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has also recently stated, "The doors of the political process with Israel are shut."

Another surprising turn of events was revealed with the report of the Commission to Examine the Status of Building in Judea and Samaria, a legal panel headed by Supreme Court Justice (ret.) Edmund Levy.

The report stated, "Our basic conclusion is that from the point of view of international law, the classical laws of 'occupation' as set out in the relevant international conventions cannot be considered applicable to the unique and sui generis historic and legal circumstances of Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria, over the course of decades.”
"Therefore, according to international law, Israelis have the legal right to settle in Judea and Samaria and the establishment of settlements cannot, in and of itself, be considered to be illegal."

Aside from that report the conclusion has also been drawn and promoted that the Palestinians have no legal claim to the West Bank.

For the first time many Israeli’s are beginning to see and to believe that the Land of Palestine is theirs. This would seem to be preparation for the situation that will come about after the Peace Treaty of Antichrist is signed (see Daniel 9:24). At that time Israel will possess the whole land and re-establish the temple worship in Jerusalem. This situation will hold until the mid tribulation point when the peace is shattered by Antichrist and the land will then be divided (see Matthew 24:15-16).

In yet another indication of this new found belief that the time is at hand for Israel to occupy the whole land is found in the following news item.

MK Zevulun Orlev of the Jewish Home party has called for massive reforms, including new Basic Laws, in order to establish a Third Temple in Jerusalem.

This move seems to be just a preliminary step which is not yet coming to fruition; however they are the sort of things we would expect to see when the time comes for the Temple worship to be restored.

Quietly and out of the public eye preparations for the rebuilding of the Temple and the re-establishment of the worship have been going on for several years now. The plans and blueprints are prepared, the funding is being solicited, the priests are being prepared, and the furnishings and vessels for the Temple are prepared.

A news item just coming in suggests the Palestinian Authority is on the verge of collapse which would facilitate an Israeli takeover of the West Bank.

The item reads as follows.

“The Palestinian Authority is on the verge of collapse, says a PA economist, who warns that the later it happens, the harder it will be.”

“It will mean that people will lose their homes. They will lose their cars. They will lose their land sometimes because of the collapse of the bubble,” Birzeit University economist Tareq Sadeq told the global InterPress Agency. “This will affect the whole economy and will also reflect on the Palestinian Authority. So this may be a collapse of the PA itself.”

Do we see the hand of God removing those who are usurping Israel’s land? We do know that when the war of Psalm 83 takes place God will forcibly remove the Palestinians from Israel (see Psalm 83:12-18).

Those who have eyes to see can discern that the age is drawing to a close. No matter where we look in this troubled world we see the signs of the coming Day of the Lord.
